    Transducer Install

Thanks deep.....I am actually replacing a transducer that was already installed, not looking into drilling another hole(s). There are actually 2 transducers in this location w/ both the cables going through the same hole. Guess I'll clean-out the existing hole as best as possible, coat w/ epoxy...

    Transducer Install

Need to replace a transducer on my '95 268 Islander which has the stepped hull. Currently the transducer is mounted on the "vertical" surface which is approximately 24" fwd of the transom. In this configuration the cable for the transducer goes through the hull below the water line. Whoever...

    Hatch Gasket?

Thanks for the well written response Dennis. I actually found a ""hatch seal" at a local marine supply store, looked like weather stripping....was closed seal. Didn't buy it, still thinking!

    Hatch Gasket?

Reason I asked if they were necessary was because my '84 Offshore didn't have them.........

    Hatch Gasket?

Those strips look like what I'm talking about........mine almost seem to fun the length of the hatch. Are the necessary and can you buy replacements?

    Hatch Gasket?

Removed the hatches from my '95 268 Islander. Just purchased July '19. Hatch over the main tank had already been recored but the smaller rear one needed re-coring. Found rubber strips around the edges, see pics. Was this from Grady or the PO? There wasn't and caulking installed either.......

    Raw/Fresh Water Washdown Plumbing

As long as I shut off and open the correct valve.......I shouldn't get salt water in my eyes!

    Raw/Fresh Water Washdown Plumbing

The fresh water tank is also connected to a separate pump for the sink in the cabin and the sink in the head.

    Raw/Fresh Water Washdown Plumbing

Given all the responses.........I think it's safe to say this set-up is not what Grady had intended. I don't intend on using the fresh water to fill the live well, however it does give me the option to have fresh water at the wash-down hose for a quick rinse after being in salt water!!

    Raw/Fresh Water Washdown Plumbing

You got it Fishtails......and a check valve makes sense!

    Raw/Fresh Water Washdown Plumbing

See if the attachment makes any sense: 1) There is a valve inside the livewell to stop water flow. 2) If valve A is open and B is closed the Pump will be fed by Raw Water. 3) If valve A is closed and B is open the Pump will be fed by Fresh Water. This is how I assume it works...

    '95 Islander Fresh Water Pump

Did some more investigating.......... While trying to measure the voltage on the wires I discovered I heard a pump running when the "freshwater pressure" switch was turned on; actually found water in the head (came out of the hose I found disconnected). Going to assume all is well on this at...

    Raw/Fresh Water Washdown Plumbing

I have a new to me '95 Islander. During the off season I am getting more familiar w/ the boats systems. Has a raw water pump contected the washdown hose and the "live well". The raw water enters the hull and goes to a valve which is connected to a "T". One side of the "T" goes to the Pump and...

    '95 Islander Fresh Water Pump

Thanks.........I will have to check under the steps into the cabin. Can the steps be removed? Think I remember seeing an access panel on the bottom step.....not sure how I could even see in it.

    '95 Islander Fresh Water Pump

I actually have the owner's manual but can't determine where the pump should be or how it's plumbed. There are 2 hoses connected to the bottom aft of the tank. Can't really tell where they go, the hose I found near the faucet on the sink in the head is clear w/ a white crosshatch.....that's not...
