    Barbecue Mount

Is the stove attached to the bait tray? If not it looks like you're just one big wave away from a disaster.

    Hard top cargo net?

Re: T Bag I also looked at the T-Bag for my Seafarer. I think what Drifter may have seen is the net that comes on the newer Seafarers. They're not nearly as low as the T-Bags

    Mounting radar display

Tbone, Another option you should look at is purchasing a Seaview Pod to mount the display. It can be mounted directly to your hardtop (outside the upper electronics box) and the unit will tilt and swivel. They have a model that has the cutouts for a Furuno 1623 so the fit and finish...

    muriatic acid treatment for outboard

With all the boats out there for sale I would be very leary of one with engine problems. I wouldn't use muriatic acid for sure but I think the saltaway treatment may be your best bet. If the engine has been neglected to this point what else has been neglected? Its something to think about.

    Running Trim Tab Wires Forward

You'll have to use the rigging tube. Just like Ono said you should leave a pull string in the rigging tube when you finish for the next time you add something :D If you do need to use a fish tape just be careful when pulling your cable back through. Make sure everything is taped up with...

    Running Trim Tab Wires Forward

Ed You should have access to a rigging tube that runs from the stern to the helm. Here's a page from a 208 manual that illustrates the location. Hope this helps.

1995 Seafarer 228 Fuel Burn reality check

That sounds about right. My Yamaha OX66 (EFI) gets 2 MPG and I would guess that a carbed engine would get a little less.

    Trim Tabs

There isn't any formula that works all the time. It depends on the sea conditions. On my boat if the water is calm and the weight is distributed evenly I keep the tabs retracted since there is the issue of drag that is created when the tabs are down. If the weight is uneven I will lower one...

Big Airmar tilt FF thru hull ducers

Bob, Thanks for the dimensions. Not sure how this might measure up with my Seafarer but it sounds close to working. My biggest concern would be with the raw water pickups causing turbulence if its too close. You didn't happen to take some photos of your setup did you? :)

    Garboard Drain

Curmudgeon is correct. Just last week one of my friends noticed his bilge pump running about every 5 minutes and discovered that a nut had fallend into the bilge and worked its way into the threads for his plug. The plug wouldn't go in far enough to create a seal and was letting tons of water...

gas flow and battery charge questions

My main tank is also forward. I typically use the auxillary tank just to keep the stern from being as low in the water.

I would think you could get by with water pressure and water temperature gauges only. Seems like you already monitor the other necessary items.

Great looking boat! I know you'll enjoy. One question though - what is the device on the bow and arch with the wires "spraying out" in all directions? :?
