    Macerator replacement on Marlin

What year is your boat? Is this something that was redesigned recently and you can buy the new parts?

    265 Express

That's what I found when we were looking. It's tough to find a really nice one.

    265 Express

I have an '02 265 with F225's. 95% of it's use is fishing and it's great for that. It rides great, has excellent range, a huge fishbox, great helm area and the cockpit is deep and roomy for a 26 footer. It's also economical with the F225's. As someone else said getting to the bow might make...

Was the GW 265 Express hull used in any other model ?

I don't, but my wife does. It seems prudent to compromise on this one and thank god I only have one daughter.....

Was the GW 265 Express hull used in any other model ?

I have an '02 265 with F225's. Love it but sometimes wish there was a little more boat under me when I'm offshore and the cabin space is a bit lacking for anything but an overnighter. Thinking of moving up to a Marlin in 2 years. I have a wedding to pay for next year. Bill

Was the GW 265 Express hull used in any other model ?

Not sure you'd get an aft sleeper in the cabin without sacrificing something else like fishbox space and/or fuel capacity. But if they raised the foredeck they could possibly get bunks in above the V-Berth. We only overnight on our boat a few times a year but it's a little cramped.

Was the GW 265 Express hull used in any other model ?

I have to disagree with that comment. My wife and daughter put the cushions up on the foredeck and lay out there.

Bring it back as a 28. Add a foot in the cabin and a foot in the cockpit and redesign the electronics box to get it away from the windshield and increase visibility. Raise the foredeck center area for a little more headroom and you'd have it IMO.

    Power winch

How many have you had? I've owned three. They work great but they put a big load on your trucks alternator. At one point a friend and I had the same boat and similar 1/2 ton trucks but he had a small winch that burned out his alternator a few times and at that point you're hand cranking which...

    Power winch

Buy the biggest one they make. It will pull the boat up faster and in general handle the load better. And it will do it without doubling up the cable.

    Generator install on 282 Sailfish

You can use the adapter and your shorepower cord. No reason to buy an extension cord.

Best single engine GW Walkaround Cabin

I would go with the 258 and F250 if it were me. I always thought the 24 Explorer was the perfect boat with a single and the 258 is a slightly larger version of that boat. A friend had one for years that he used to tow with a 3/4 ton Chevy. Bill

    Evinrude E-Tec any opions ?

My buddy has a 29 Hydrasport CC with twin 250 Etecs. They're pigs on gas compared to my F225's. We did an offshore run yesterday with his boat and burned 154 gals of gas and I don't know how much oil. I'm sure I could've done that trip for less than 100 gals in my 265. Maybe the smaller...

    Yamaha F225 Problems?

Furuno, Raymarine or Garmin Lowrance is not of the same quality. I had one on my last boat and will never own another one

    Props for 265 with 225 4 strokes

    I think you'd be happier with a set of 17's or 18's.

    Props for 265 with 225 4 strokes

I don't believe the F225's on a 265 or 282 can achieve anywhere near full rpm with 19 pitch props. One person, 30-40 gals of fuel, no bottom paint and a tail wind - maybe you can get close. With the Mirage Plus 18's I can get to 5800 rpm with 1/2 tank of fuel and 3 guys.
