    Battery switch issue

I made it to the boat this evening for a couple of hours. Not much progress. I had to make templates for New Wire marine since that will take about 6 weeks to come back. Also, ordered all of the electronics today, full Garmin suite. Man, that was expensive!!! Anyway, I tried the meter on the...

    Battery switch issue

I see what you are saying here. You are probably correct assuming that the switches are the same. I took the middle lug as the feed as interpreted from the drawing. However, you are probably right that it’s the same switch as the other side. This one is not labeled batt2 like you can see in...

    Battery switch issue

No I don’t. I don’t actually start the motors because the lowers are off and no hose hook up. When I test for start I just hit it to hear if the starter turns.

    Battery switch issue

I don’t know how to label the pictures but the first three are the starboard side, the next two are the port side and the final picture is the fuse panel. The starboard side switch appears to be wired like the owners manual picture. The battery has the return from the 40A breaker wire AND...

    Battery switch issue

So I am at boat now. I removed both batteries from the starboard side. I removed the battery switch which appears to be wired correctly per my owners manual and Skunks picture above. However, when I switch the port side switch on 1,2, both everything works. All pumps, lights and both motors...

    Battery switch issue

I suppose that this is possible. However, when i removed the terminals i zip tied them together and marked with tape so not to mess up the replacement. I just need to get to the boat to take apart the switches to see how they are wired. I can tell you that the second battery is wired in...

    Battery switch issue

This forum is great! I have only been a member (and a Grady owner) for a very short period of time. There are so many folks willing to help. Thank you! I, hopefully, answered everyone's questions to help further the trouble shooting exercise. I'm going to try to get to the boat tomorrow to...

    Battery switch issue

No, there are only 2 switches (one for each bank of two starting batteries). yes, i know that there should be a deep cycle but this is how i bought the boat. yes, in the past turning just the switches killed all power when in the off position. I can not confirm with any certainty that on 1 or...

    Battery switch issue

I don't know when they blew. I just bought the boat. I replaced all of the scupper hoses and sanitation hoses along with an external macerator pump like suggested on this site. I am just getting around to starting electric/electronics. yes, the switches have worked before including after i...

    Battery switch issue

This is a 2003 265 Express. I have not found another battery elsewhere other than where they are supposed to be. There are 4 starting batteries. Two connected to each battery switch.

    Battery switch issue

It's not just lights getting power. It's everything. I agree it should only being the bilge pump getting power if the float switch rises. I believe that is wired correctly

    Battery switch issue

No. Everything still works with the batteries switched to off, or 1, or 2, or both. The wiper motor, mascerator, fresh water pumps. Everything. Something is up with the switches. I just need to find time to get there to investigate. I was thinking that someone may have had a similar issue...
