2000 Adventure 208 fuel tank test

Sure, understood. Sometimes it's easier to just write a check :) And, you're putting food on someone else's table, as well.

2000 Adventure 208 fuel tank test

Use a neighbors tree... If you did want to do it yourself, you could make a very simple gantry crane out of some wood. Do you have a garage? You could use the ceiling joists - I did that with my mother's GW 192 to take her engine off. Standard garage height.

Do you have a tree you can back the motor under? You could lift it/swing it/rotate it that way if you wanted to do it yourself.

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

I knew it! Self promoting either what you can bench (average) or your size is your go to... I was just waiting for it. But to be clear, I never said the total wet weight was 1,200lbs less. I said "plus whatever else" one might add on top of the normal engine/gas... and that whatever else is a...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

Should be, yes. But it's a competition - and if they don't all do it, none of them will. And, certainly, there isn't going to be a law passed to make them do it.

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

Granted all this is a moot point now, but it's interesting to do math (even for those of us with experience). If we add in a full water tank, that brings up (rounding up) to 9,200lbs before gear and whatever is in the fishboxes. But lets add some pounds for batteries since they're usually not...

Sounds like you're on the right track.

    Grady Marlin Livewell gas shock

"A lot of force" is subjective, but if they're not holding the lid up, then they're shot.... unless... did someone put smaller (poundage) shocks on there before you got the boat? If you don't have, or can't find, a parts manual - reach out to GW. Pop it off and try manually compressing it...

    Rod holder quality

Actually, you have chromed bronze holders - which are not cheap, by any means. They will outlast pretty much anything else. The downside is the chrome part - it is an aesthetic finish that requires upkeep to keep it nice. But, like chromed bronze thru-hulls, once the pitting starts you really...

    2023 236 storage

Soccer Guy - how many people do you typically take out? You only need a jacket for everyone onboard... not the cap plate. Meaning, maybe "most" of the time you only need a few... and then deal with it when you have a BOATLOAD. But really, they fit where they fit, you know? There's no magic...

2000 Adventure 208 fuel tank test

You can plug things off and put a couple pounds in it safely. But if there was an actual tank issue, it would be leaking - which it is not - and as mentioned above, it's plastic so all of the things you read about an Al tank don't apply. Probably just old lines.

    Talk me into it..

Your wife is onboard with it? End of discussion. If that was me, and she said she was good to move up... you would have seen a lifesize hole in the wall in my shape where I ran thru it on the way to the dealership before she even finished the sentence.........

What control and where on 209 Fisherman

Yeah, generally a kicker is not something you're going to need to have your hands on a lot when using it - so somewhat out of the way is probably fine.

What control and where on 209 Fisherman

Hmmm... I don't think they have such a thing, either. Looks like there's enough room on the vertical surface. Is there enough room for full swing of the handle? How about on the port or stbd side of the console? Is there room on top of the console?

Grady White Sleeper seat convert to Pedestal?

Do you mean a compass, or something else? "Binnacle" is generally a "fashion of mounting" - not an actual thing (or at least, not commonly used for that).

What control and where on 209 Fisherman

Do you have room to change that single binnacle to a dual?

Ah, gotcha. Good luck with the new boat!

Water dripping in at planing speed

Can you better clarify the things you have checked? It's better for us if you are specific as to what you actually did and how you verified it was not the culprit. Note, I edited my original reply as there was a grammatical error... "hose" was wrong... I changed it to "hull".

Care to share the route? Why the change?

Grady White Sleeper seat convert to Pedestal?

It sounds like you're installing a captain's chair... MSP is going the other way, installing a B-2-B... so slightly different in how it's mounted (see above). One "could" use a couple Togglers for a B-2-B - but it's overkill.
