    Talk me into it..

Or talk me out of it… ThinkIng about moving up to a GW 305 from my current 248. The 248 is paid for, repowered and pretty much does what I need. The 305 is a lot more boat and the wife wants the creature comforts. It would open up a whole new range of boating possibilities, but at a cost. Not...

    Amazon gel coat close match

Was just their basic kit with yellow, brown and black dye colors. The mix from the two tubes is white and cream color; when mixed it’s very close to the off white faded shade of my 96 Voyager.

    Amazon gel coat close match

Found this kit on amazon- color is pretty close to a faded Grady right out of the box. 2 part squeegee mix with dye. Great for small repairs.

    Bulkhead replacement

Pretty big job to say the least. I’m almost done. Wound up using a 3/4 PVC sheet. Biggest issue was the old plywood just fell apart making it hard to use as a template for the new pieces. Lining up all the holes so that the hardware could be reattached proved to be quite a challenge as well...

No, just the helm to cabin bulkhead panels. They are rotted at the base.

    Bulkhead replacement

Going to replace the bulkheads on my 96 248 Voyager. Any recommendations on material to use? Was thinking a 3/4” synthetic material but open to suggestions.

    248 Voyager Tank Replacement

You could also have the new tank made 6” shorter to make the replacement easier. Would be a minimal reduction in fuel capacity.

    248 Voyager Tank Replacement

Hi Jim, It’s a pretty straightforward R and R. Those white blocks are from the factory and are held in with screws. (No foam). The tank sits on strips of rubber and I re used the originals. The only cutting required was the strip of marine plywood between the large and small hatch covers...

    Need Fuel Valve help

Dug in a little deeper today. Aux tank was flattening the bulb. Turned out to be a clogged pickup hose. Thanks for all the advice.

    Need Fuel Valve help

I’ll double check the hoses but all were done when I did the tanks two years ago. That’s why I suspect the valve.

    Need Fuel Valve help

Single 250. Is it possible the valve can let air into the fuel system if bad? It’s a 29 year old valve.

    Need Fuel Valve help

Reviving an old thread. My 96 Voyager tank selection valve is “sloppy”. Loose handle when selecting tanks. Could it be sucking air? Main tank I have no issues but on the auxiliary my motor will buck at high RPMs. Checked fuel, drained filters and VST. No water or debris. Switch back to main and...
