Agree to disagree on this one. I can remember to lower the gate before raising the motors which only happens at the end of the day. I cannot control corrosion and mother nature. But I am also in a very unforgiving Pacific Ocean so take it for what it is....

Might I also recommend a dead bolt slide lock on the sides so it cannot "Fall" during rough seas. Thats how mine broke since the lil ball locks tend to corrode.

I am going to go counter to what others have said and say stay away from Simrad auto pilot. This is only my recommendation. I have a dual Simrad EVO NSS system and intentionally chose to go Furuno for a multitude of reasons, but the main one is the recent horror stories about the software issues...

Is simrad aware of the issue? Maybe they will add that to the next software update? I have an EVO 3 and a EVO 3S. I have not noticed this issue but I may have mine plugged into the EVO 3. Hope they can fix that.
