Just checking that when you were measuring the resistance on the rear tank sender, you had completely disconnected the wires from the boat? What reading did you get? Zero (i.e. short circuit) or infinite?

If you can easily disconnect the senders entirely, you might try using a multimeter to measure the resistance at full or any other known level. When full it should read 30 ohms and empty should be 240 ohms. 1/2 tank should be about 135. Note you can only measure this when the sender is...

You might want to chat with a Yamaha mechanic and find out if the engine would have thrown and recorded a code when it died like that. Assume you have original F350's? I'd probably want to run the engine diagnostics and see if it can tell you about any known problems.

I've noticed that the boat is quite sensitive to engine trim in terms of maximizing MPG -- you might try trimming out a bit. What props are you running and what is your top speed & RPM?
