Replacing Battery Compartment doors on 2001 Fisherman 222

Pics? Or what are they made out of? HDPE? Assuming that... you can and them yourself - or there are online companies that can make them to your spec. "Maybe" you can still buy them from GW... but it's going to be expensive since they have to make them again.

marine head wont fill with water on Freedom 235

If you're positive that whatever style head you have uses fresh water - you'd have to tell us specifically what you have since there are different kinds - and since you're not getting water out of a fresh water washdown - and assuming you're not mistaking it with a raw water washdown - check the...

    Plastic cup holders

I don't know why this is ringing a bell, but try the brand Beckson? Or... get some plastic spray paint from HD Or... go SS

New to the forum with my first question bout motor mount hight.

That's some very good information and well documented, Brian. I gotta say... I'm also surprised at the increase you got - I would not have expected it to be that noticeable. But then, on smaller boats a singl ehole change tends have a bigger impact than it does on bigger hulls. Either way...

    Stratoglass on 209 Fisherman?

Based on your first pic, it seemed like you had a bimini top? Just curious, why are those straps being used instead of something simple like turn snaps? But... looks good!

    Stratoglass on 209 Fisherman?

Just put them wherever it makes sense for you - there's no magical place to put them so don't overthink this one Adding onto the above - take into account where the straps will be when opened and where the eye will be when the bikini isn't being used. Again, this is what works best for YOU -...

    2016 GulfStream 232 windless install

    That looks very nice!

    226 Seafarer anchor light wire

Windshields are actually pretty simple to take apart. I highly doubt the wire is secured inside the windshield... but any sharp bend will make it hard to pull - sometimes pushing and pulling helps - but those hard angles are tough. You know what would be even easier? Just install a pole light...

    Swim ladder cover?

In any of the boats that I've owned that have a ladder sticking out like that, I just avoid bumping into things :) But... if you don't use the ladder often, maybe something like a swim noodle that you you slit and use some bungees? Maybe a rubber door mat that you let hang over the ladder...

    Motor well scuppers

If the inside rim has broken off from corrosion, it's reasonable that the other side will in short time. Don't do a band-aid repair when the real repair is easy and doesn't take long, at all. Chisel the old tube out, pop a new tube in. Check out TH Marine's website - they have nice plastic...

    Windlass power

Along the lines of what Seasick said, the windlass, itself doesn't NEED a latching solenoid. Having/not having foot switches is also not a factor here. It simply needs 12V supplied by a source that can handle the amp draw. Meaning, you could run the proper size wires direct to a battery touch...

    2016 GulfStream 232 windless install

A moot point... I've done 1/2" rope to 1/4" chain plenty of times - actually is not bad at all. 1/4" is rated for larger boats than you have - you're good with 1/4". Fluke... just a tie a piece of rope to it and see how it acts while you lower it out of the roller and then bring it back in...

    2016 GulfStream 232 windless install

Yes, absolutely - those little hinges are not enough.

    2016 GulfStream 232 windless install

If you mount it on the pulpit... that means the rode is dropping through both the pulpit and the deck. Where the rode falls... it will not be the deepest part of the anchor locker. The rode may pile up and jam the windlass. Especially if it's chain/rope. But, as far as it physically fitting...

Condensation dripping on fuel tank fittings

There's no drains at all inside the console? Strange. Or, at the very least, not very well thought out. The door looks like it should do a good job of keeping water out... does it have drains on the bottom lip to allow water to drain out of the door lip? Are they clogged? Maybe the seal...

    1994 Grady White Seafarer 228 w/ 2006 Yamaha 250hp - thoughts?

That's PLENTY of power - way more than needed for that boat. But that's a good problem. Price seems VERY fair. Actually, very VERY fair with that engien and a new trailer. I have the big sister to that boat (Offshore). You've got a closed transom, which is nice. But all the normal caveats...

    Fuel tanks

True, hoses may need to be extended or shortened... same with wiring. But both of those things are easy peasy. And, really, the install is simple, too - plop them in and add some bracing where needed - doesn't matter what kind of bracing... no attention needed to any side of it regarding...

    Fuel tanks

I have not, but would absolutely try and do it if it were me. Much less issues with plastic and more durable. Try Moeller's website and/or contact them to see sizes/shapes - there may be an off the shelf one available in that size.

    330 express Sunroof shade

I'm very familiar with their smaller shades, but not that size. Is it like the smaller ones that are a fully, self contained unit and surface mounted? Get the spec on the unit and compare to what you have... as long as it's the same size (assuming surface mounted) it will work. How much room...

SE Hydrofoil on GW Adventure 208

On some boats, they help. On others they do nothing. On others, they cause issues, such as ventilation of the prop in turns. I haven't actually tried it on your boat with your engine, but from my experience with them on other boats and customer's boats over the years... I wouldn't do it. One...
