Review my posts and pictures this year of my 98 208 transom was replaced this past winter mine had the same cracks for years kept repairing them and each winter would return I didn't see any flexing of the transom once it was opened it was rotten its a big job $7 seems like a good price . Last year needing a transom replacement it was recommended to install a plate on the top bolts and lower would be better , Transom was replaced this winter he reinstalled the plates when finished .

Very slow process almost ready for gel coat. Decided to have the bottom redone while its in the shop .
