1990 seafarer. The copper tube that goes through the transom on the ball scuppers , the flange is starting to crack. I’m concerned about water eventually working its way into the transom. Should I do away with the ball scuppers, and go to a different style? Thanks for your help.

I have a 1990 seafarer. Repaired cover over fuel tank . At the same I decided to pull the tank to inspect it. It has some minor pitting where someone had used .125 x 1.5 strips of rubber underneath.
