Seen on the road, '92 Sailfish

I have that same boat year and model. It is a full transom with the Springfield bracket bolted on. Safest setup and lots of room in the cockpit! I love this model and it is worth someone grabbing and restoring. A bit confused on the motor comments. What year and what size is of great curiosity...

    Horn Replacement ?

I have the Ongaro mini compact twin horns which are quite loud when new, but finding even after a couple seasons, they do start to oxidize inside and have to be cleaned and adjusted. Last one I replaced, after pulling it off I decided to take it completely apart and found that the channels were...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

I have the FELL system and it works fine. Install was simple and compatible with my twin engines. Did have issues with antenna reaching to front and back through the cabin I guess, so got an extended antenna and mounted on top of my helm. I do have issues though when standing at the back of the...

    Pulpit

Mine had big chunks out of it and cracks. I ground them out to clean material, filled with structural filler, faired and gel coated the first time. About 2 years later, I decided to put a new top mounted bow roller to accomodate better anchor flipping so it would right itself. Had to fill in...

    Replace Jabsco Electric Conversion?

For my manual pump system, I have to rebuild it every few years. Have replaced it twice in last 10 years. Seems the electric you had was holding up longer and much easier to use. But, the price!

    Prop selection

Emerin1, please keep us posted as I am considering those same motors. I also have those same props...17m/17ml. For my 200 HPDI's, these are propped perfectly as I get 49mph top end if not too overloaded and the hole shot it nothing less than stellar! I would think those motors propped right...

    buffer recommendations

Have gone through the same issue on my Sailfish. Ended up purchasing some cone shaped wool attachments for drill and used that to get by, but I really like the looks and size of that Proxxon. I think I might go for that one and give it a try. Thanks for sharing that Wild Blue!

Trolling motor install on 282 Sailfish

amf282, any feedback on performance results with the 2 36v batteries? Anything you would do different or need to consider?

    Marine decking questions

I like the teak look with black stripes, but wouldn't think it would be too hot in full sun, but I am sure it would be hotter than the grady off white gelcoat.. However, we notice a lot of glare when trolling and think that if we went with the teak, it would reduce a lot of glare off the floor...

    Thru hull installation

In my 252G, I removed the factory installed raytheon tducer and cut the hole bigger to fit and it was a good install. Just had to cut some of the bilge floor away on the inside so I could access the nut to tighten.

    Marine decking questions

Is it the color that is the too hot problem? No one seems to be telling what color they have when it is too hot? Would assume darker colors are hotter of course....

Rhodan on 88 Trophy Pro - Cool Upgrade 2

Maybe one could add a small mounting area to the aluminum mounting plate just out to the side and mount the nav light there where it could be seen fully. Hard to see how that would work based on the pics, but something to think about.

Rhodan on 88 Trophy Pro - Cool Upgrade 2

Nice work! This looks like same install would work for my 92 252G Sailfish. What type of charger and where did you mount it? I think I could mount a 36v in my forward locker as it comes back pretty far and is very deep. To me, the hardest part is trying to figure out the rails and parts to...

Why not cut across the gunnels just forward of the livewell boxes. Much less re-glass work.

    bow pulpit repair

I filled in mine with a piece of oak wood made as a wedge to fit as a filler, then after grinding bad areas and surfaces to allow a bond, I used structural fiberglass filler and then sanded smooth. Added a thin layer of marine bondo to fill in any perfections and then painted with Interlux. I...

    Grady drive inspection port replacement?

You might find that some of the original screw holes are corroded or stripped out. I purchased new white screw in covers from West Marine and drilled new holes and tapped. Came out great and the seal great. No water so far has come inside the bracket since I installed them. I used 3M4000 UV to...

    Trailering with Eisenglass

For running to the ramp a few miles away, never go over 50mph, no issue keeping them up. Running for 3 hours at 70mph, remove front curtains and leave up side curtains. I never use rear curtains. So far, seems ok. I have left up the front once or twice, but they take a beating and the bugs can...

    Repowering

Consider the torque differences between the 4cyl vs 6cyl. The Merc 200 has more than the Zuki. Depends on what you care about. Has been heavily debated in other posts so you can search and find more details and info. For me, the closest HP to Torque and weight comparison is the Mercury 200 vs...
