I've had a boat rigged with minimum hp before and it wasn't enough with realistic load weight and also in heavy seas. My 265 has twin 250 optimax's and it is great. Plenty of power for big seas and cruises nice. I wouldn't want less than 225's on a big 265 express. My .02$

Mine are pinned. I have a hole drilled on each end in the top of the transom door where it overhangs the sides and have a 3" bolt dropped in there. I just pop out the bolts if I need to open the transom. Works well.

i dont have a kicker on mine because the 2010 250 optimax's troll really nice and are designed for it. I can troll down to 1.2 knots on one engine which is perfect for salmon fishing here in washington.

On long tuna trips (50 miles ) I go out on the aux tank (rear tank) then come back in on the forward tank. All the fish caught will compensate for the aux tank fuel burned. Plus I'm already heavy aft with ice. I usually have more fuel in the rear tank also.

I'm running 14x19 mercury Enertia props. Boat came with an extra set of 15.5x17 quicksilver props that the previous owner didn't like so he put on the Enertia props. Ive only had the boat in the water once so far this season so I don't have specific rpm info yet.
