I do like the idea of having it up at the bow like you show. I could wire a connector into the anchor locker hatch so I could remove the unit when not using it. Just need to come up with a way to mount it so it can be removed/installed easily.

I found SEM has a color called Sea Ray Mystic White that's very close to the vinyl on my 2002 282 Sailfish. Problem is no one around CT has it and it's costly to ship.

Alright, I answered my own question. I used a large metric adjustable wrench and set it for just over the size of the shaft, then slid the wrench over the shaft just above the collar and hit it down with a rubber mallet (metric or standard mallet, doesn't matter). Whew!

I've had good success with Bar Keepers Friend for cleaning the hull and topsides. It works really well on fiberglass staining and grime removal.

Thank you fishbust. Overall I'm very happy with the way it came out. I installed it in the boat yesterday and got everything wired up correctly. Both new panels look good on the dash. I just wish I could find a source for replacement actuators that have reasonable prices.

Here's the new panel with most of the switches. Next time I need to be more careful with the alignment of the pattern :-|
