    ACR PLB vs InReach Mini

I have both - very different use cases. May ditch the inreach though in favor of Starlink!

purging air after new fuel tank

You'll just use the in-line hand-squeeze priming pump to push fuel all the way to the motor where there's a valve that lets air out but not fuel. Will take a bit of pumping, especially if you have an in-line fuel/water separator filter, but eventually you will be able to pump it until the bulb...

2004 Grady White 33 Express Cruiser Garmin Transducer

I don't have a picture, but it's mounted wide of the generator and air conditioning thru-hulls, accessible through the main deck hatch... It's the 20 degree tilt and I purchased from BOE Marine. It's kinda huge!

2004 Grady White 33 Express Cruiser Garmin Transducer

I have both the GT51TH mounted on the centerline as in the above picture but also the Airmar B175HW. I almost always use the B175HW as it gives amazing definition and resolution compared to the GT51, but of course it doesn't do side scan. The 175 also does pretty well at planing speeds.

    33 express generator

Good point - it probably cycles on and off, so average consumption may be a lot less. But regardless, every inverter setup I've seen uses a separate battery bank...

330 Express: Rod Storage INSIDE cabin?

I have these mounted on the ceiling in the middle https://www.amazon.com/Taco-Metals-Stainless-Delrin-Hanger/dp/B001HBTRDW/ref=sr_1_28

    33 express generator

Here's the rough math: 8.1 amps of 110 Volts AC is about 900 Watts. So you'll need a minimum 1,000 Watt inverter. If your inverter were 100% efficient you would need 75 amps of 12 Volts DC to power a 900 Watt device. (900 divided by 12), but inverters are only about 90% efficient so you'll need...

16 Inch Simrad Evo3S on 330 Express - Do they fit?

I took some fairly precise measurements on my 2003 when I updated the electronics. May be helpful!

Remote Spot and Aft Lights - Good or Bad idea?

I have a forward facing light bar and 2 very wide angle aft facing spreaders all from black oak LED. I use the light bar when picking my out of my harbor at night and am always super-careful about not blinding other boaters. The spreaders get used on the open ocean when trolling. I consider them...

Grady 330, f300 outboards best mount height and propeller type and size

Hey a quick thought: are you certain you have 89+ octane gas in the tanks? The 300's require 89 whereas the 250's only need 87. The 300's will detune themselves if you use 87 octane...

Grady 330, f300 outboards best mount height and propeller type and size

I have an '03 330 Express with 4.2L F250's which are the exact same motor as the F300's but with a detuned ECM. Your performance is almost exactly what I get on my boat. I would think trimming out would more or less make up for being mounted 1 hole too low (unfortunately I can't tell you how my...

WIRE ROUTING FOR PULPIT MOUNTED SPOT LIGHT 330 EXPRESS

x2 - In my experience, catching anything from the pulpit or bow rail will make the spotlight useless. I ended up putting a low profile bar on my hard top far enough back that the entire bow is shadowed. In order to get far enough back I had to put it on one side of my radar dome mount, but that...

    Inverter Systems??

So my setup is two 100 amp hour AGM batteries for a usable capacity of 100 - 160 amp hours (depending on 50% or 80% discharge depth). My Yamaha 4.2L F250's provide about 30 - 40 amps each through the optional isolator charging wires that I have connected. So in theory, I can charge the bank up...

Replacing generator with inverter on 330 Express

Minor Update: I rewired the system last season so that inverter/charger is no longer in-line with the shore power system. Instead it's output goes to where the generator output used to go (see diagram). The reason is that my particular unit had this annoying feature that even if the unit was on...

    Inverter Systems??

Here’s a thread on my 2000w inverter / charger install: https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/replacing-generator-with-inverter-on-330-express.33556/ My inverter battery bank is charged both by shore power but also by my outboards. I love it — for my use it’s far better than a generator but I...

Grady White 330 Express Bow Thruster - Replacement

Strangely - that's the standard factory installation. I think that weird chunk under the tunnel comes from how they molded the hulls so they could choose to put the thruster in or not later in the process. (i.e. the mold itself has the space for the tunnel and then they either complete it with...

    Mooring lines rubbing on anchor

I've noticed the same thing, and sometimes one of the mooring lines will even get hung up under the point of my Delta anchor. My anchor doesn't have any sharp edges, so I haven't been too worried, but I think the only real answer is chafe protection. Come to think of it I have some chafe guards...

    Autopilot Addtion

I have 100% Garmin electronics and I'm a bit mixed as to whether I'd go Garmin again, but... one super awesome feature of the Garmin autopilot is that I can control it with my Garmin watch! I use it all the time that way, especially when I'm solo.

    33 express generator

For what it's worth, I forgot to close the seacock several times on my 330 with a factory plumbed FP without any problems. But it died of other natural causes after 20 years and I replaced it with an inverter system. LOVE the inverter -- best upgrade I've done.
