I just pulled all mine today . two were cracked right through and popped off as soon as I started turning them . Pain in the butt but I got them off . now I need to find replacements .

There are some coatings you can apply to that fuel tank that will help it last a lot longer than a bare metal one would . or you could get it powder coated .
