    Yes, the old motor was a 25" and the new one is a 30". The jack plate would add 4" of length on the bracket.

    Has anyone ever used a jack plate on a 228G? (Mine is a 93') I need to lift the motor up 5" (4 stroke Yamaha, 560lbs) but I'm a little concerned with the geometry and weight distribution since the engine is mounted on a bracket already. Maybe I'm overthinking this..
