    Running at night

I have been running at night since I was a boy, 15, and too young to know. I am now 56 and go out at night all the time. I was out last night on Narragansett Bay. There is way way too much reliance on technology. Way too much. Use your eyes. Slow down one third. The people who seem to...

    Fresh Water Pressure Low

Time for a pump rebuild. There is probably a clogged strainer filter going into the pump. Clean all diaphragms. 2 hour job. Should help.

    Always amazes me...

We used to do this all the time and in Newport shipyards. All you need are stands ( or blocks if not available) and a real jack. Jack transom up 3” off trailer. Pull boat forward. May only get 2 feet. Strategically place more stands or blocks forward. Pull trailer up. Repeat. W practice you...

Twin Yam 200 HPDI on 272 issue

If it affects both then it is a fuel problem (unlikely under your fact pattern) or a control problem. Could the neutral be engaged to some extent?

    Cleat

Yeah. Cleats always sooner or later get used by someone as, well, a cleat. I am in the industry. Just look at how many times you see a dockline tied off to a mere stainless handrail. But it can be done. Just make sure to use a BACKER plate. Not just washers. A backer plate. As big as one...

    Washdown broken?

My freshwater wash down ran poorly. 16 Year’s old. I pulled it off this winter and rebuilt the pump on the kitchen table in 2 hours. Lot of gunk in there. And a little corrosion. It’s a great project for any rainy day. Should be broken down and cleaned every 5 Year’s or so. All original so no...

Need to know what to expect - fiberglass work

Regarding the holes, get something called “silica”. It’s a west system additive. It makes expoxy more permanent. I used to repair f glass. Now if you’ve got the time do 2 fills. Carefully sand flush over the holes. Use up to 1000 grit. You can make it “perfect” and I’ve seen it done. Get...

    occupancy placard?

I am an admiralty lawyer and the name and home port is not required. It’s just typically done. Coast Guard appreciates it. Here in RI comic ports like “Milky Way “ are common. Land locked ports are therefore fine and also common.

    Fresh Water Reservoir

I rebuilt my pump last winter. It’s easy if you are so inclined. Afternoon project. Take pictures and then unbolt it from the wall. It was full of crap. Went from a dribble to working fine, and it’s 17 Year’s old. Probably had never been broken down previously. Just take pics while you are...
