Bait board ideas for sportsman 180

Magma makes a model that utilizes a clip in arrangement , I hang it over the transom on starboard side of the engine. I never use the corner seats. https://magmaproducts.com/products/econo-mate-bait-fillet-table

Anyone remove the helm seat from a 180 Sportsman?

I am not taking it off regardless. It would be foolish to loosen without knowing the outcome first.

Anyone remove the helm seat from a 180 Sportsman?

My 180 is 2004, crossbar is in the rear. I called Grady but they were no help, said they couldn't be sure on a 20 year old boat.

Anyone remove the helm seat from a 180 Sportsman?

If I remove the screw and the nut drops off under the deck I'm screwed. Better to ask first.

Anyone remove the helm seat from a 180 Sportsman?

It's held to the down by 4 bolts that go through curved washers, through the pipe and into the deck. I want to know what happens when they enter the deck? Are there captive nuts? Does it just screw into the subdeck (read plywood)? I'd like to flip the entire seat 180˚ around to be able to...

    Replacement cushions for seafarer

I needed a cushion for my 180 and used Tim Kickliter NautiUpholstery LLC 813-918-0321 customboatcushionsintampafl.com He did excellent work and about 1/2 the price of the local places I tried. Fast turnaround too.

Seen on the road, '92 Sailfish

The sign states the engines are from 2012. It was repowered and then the owners situation changed, just wasn't used. That what I was told.

Is it time for a Grady transom "sticky"?

Mine is a 2004. I caught it in time, had to have it cleaned out and glassed over.

Is it time for a Grady transom "sticky"?

Was never a big fan, just wasn't impressed by the cosmetics. But when I had a chance to get a good deal on my 180 I took it and dove right in. I was certainly surprised to discover all the transom issues and had to have some work done on mine before splashing it for the first time. I like my...

Did Sailfish have motor brackets from the factory? If so do they eliminate transom/bangplate problems?

Nope, just on the side of the road although the road leads right down to the Norwalk harbor. Not a member, doesn't seem that interested in promoting it.

Bow mount trolling motor on a fisherman 180

Great first post Charlie, thanks so much for the info. If you don't mind, where do you fish? If you were starting over would you go for the 72" shaft or would it be too long when stored? I'm fishing in LI sound and during blackfish season, when this would get the most use, we can be in a 1-2ft...

trim tabs 2000 adventure, any input?

I put 9x12 Lectrotabs on my 180 Sportsman, can't imagine running without them. Easy to install, lifetime warranty, excellent customer support. On a small boat, when even the difference between a 160lb passenger and a 190lb one makes a difference, being able to tweak the ride is key.

Helm seat upgrade - 180 Sportsman

I wanted to turn my 180's helm seat around so I could get a cooler under the seat but before I did I called GW to find out what the clamp screws anchor into. The told me if the seat anchor screws are removed the nuts under the cockpit sole will drop off and I wouldn't be able to re-install the...

Bow mount trolling motor on a fisherman 180

Easy enough to put in a 4" access port if that helps. Also, maybe follow the bow light wiring back to the console. As I've been running through how I might do mine, I though I'd put the outlet between the hull and liner on the port side, inside an access port.

Bow mount trolling motor on a fisherman 180

That drawing came direct from GW cust. service. Can't you store the motor shaft in line with the gunnel so you don't lose cockpit space? Want to see pics when done. This guy had some interesting ideas, not a Garmin but still.....

Bow mount trolling motor on a fisherman 180

I was hoping you'd get an answer as I'm contemplating the same thing. Since the waterline is almost 36" below the bow can I assume you're going with the 75" shaft? I have a low bow rail that would have to be cut. I was planning on going with a 24V Li battery in the console and run a plug to...
