    Tackledirect

I had about $75 in credit. I just went on and ordered a bunch of Gulps. The order went through. We'll see.

De-badged, De-striped, Tinted Side window, Ceramic Coated

I pulled the stripe, it was beaten up and I figured I would rather spend $200 on gas & bait. I left the badges and really like the way it looks. It took a bit of buffing to even out the finish...

    Livewell and Washdown Pump

My 2004 !80 Sportsman came from GW with with a Shurflo Piranha livewell pump attached to the bronze thru-hull seacock. A few years back, I decided I needed to wash down pump to clean up the decks of blood and guts when fishing. I bought a Shurflo blaster pump which draws water from the extra...

Replaced hatch covers with Starboard - lessons learned

Does anyone know if the drop in inserts under the hatch are available for 180? Someone makes them in different sizes?

    Transom thru hole

Actually, I believe mine are wide open, I'll have to look when the weather gets better. Thank you.

    Transom thru hole

The old flaps I removed were less than 1.5 inches, they must've shrunk. So I measured the diameter of the bearing surface on the bronze fitting and that's actually 1-5/8 and I do see flaps that size. FWIW.

    Transom thru hole

Well, no wonder they were leaking, must be the original ones from 20 years ago. Yes they are 1.5 inches, I'll get some and replace them. I'm curious as to if I can get screens for the side in the cockpit to prevent crabs and bunker bits from getting in the pipe. Thanks for all your help.

    Transom thru hole

I just looked the scuppers on my 2004 180, the seem to be bronze thru hulls with rubber flaps and they leak badly. If someone sits in one of the rear seats and inch of water will come into the boat. Inside the bilge, these fittings are attached to 2 inch radiator hose, which then makes its way...

Did you ever find a proper replacement?

    Rod holder

I have a 180 and those were mounted to the sides of the live well in front of the console. Every year they cracked when bumped into or a net was put in hastily. Going to stainless.

Replacing the transom on my 275 Freedom: a photo story

Do other "high end" manufacturers have as many boats needing new transoms after 20 or so years? Seems fairly common here. Although I don't hang out on other brand's forums.

    trim tabs anodes

I keep my boat in Norwalk, Connecticut. How bad the piano are has changed from year to year. Mostly I have to put new ones on every year.. Buy a set of rudder zincs and use one on each tab. Seems now they make individual ones which is much easier. I paint my trim tab tops to avoid algae...

    T Top for 1989 20ft overnighter

I put an Atlantic " top in a box" on my 180 3 years ago. Excellent product. The basic top is only three sections, two sides on the top. I added the front reinforcement kit and overhead box. I have" overkill" mentality. This top may be the strongest thing on the boat.

Both battery bay hatches just fwd of transom have a steel rod with ball on both sides - what do they do?

Are those only available from a dealer, or are they aftermarket? For four years I've been reaching down into the village of my 180 fisherman to open and shut the seacock, this would make my life much easier.

What is this thing I found on my boat?

Looks like a quality piece of gear, better than most I've seen. Any idea who the manufacturer is?

    Gunnel Modification

I have a 180, and I assume you want to mount them midship? Because I believe there's plenty of room to mount them at the stern corners if you remove the rod holders. Pretty thick back there also. How big are the bases?

    Hull stripe

The stripe on mine was all buggered up when I bought it five years ago. I peeled the first side in the morning while the sun was hitting it just with my fingernails. The other side in the afternoon when the sun moved over. I spend a lot of time buffing to get the unweathered gel coat that was...

Garmin GPsMap 943xsv &their Captain app real world feedback

I have 2 943's on my 180. Some may say it's overkill, but when looking for small spots on the bottom of Long Island Sound having both is a real help. They were the best bang for buck units I thought. They are network together with the simple network cable. I have one in hall transducer and...

    Bottom blasted

I used two coats of Petit Protect primer, and then two coach of Hydrocoat. Hydrocoat is a lot easier to work with year to year.
