Replacing floor drains on a 282 Sailfish

I did the port side hoses and drains by removing the live well and I cut in a doorway. Crawled through the cut out and was fairly easy. The starboard side I replaced when I had to have the transom replaced due to wet/rotting wood. I've seen where others have cut-in access covers on the starboard...

    Engine bracket on 330 express

You're not thinking about adding the bracket in lieu of repairing the transom are you?

1995 Grady White 272 Sailfish "Floating Transom Cap" excessive movement

I had about a 1/2" movement in my transom. If you can, try to get some pics of the inside of the transom with you phone. Take several from one side to the other. What you are looking for is stain running down the inside of the transom. If that's the case...I got bad news for ya.

    Cracked lower unit Yamaha 350

Had the same thing happen on a '94 Yammy 200 about six years ago. Same location too. Hate it for ya. Couldn't repair so had to replace the lower unit.

Over the road shipping rates from Miami to Moriches for a Grady 360 Express

I've not used Caj Flynn myself but have seen many testimonials from customers complementing them on their service. They can be found over on The Hull Truth in the commercial sales section. Look for a thread titled "Boat Transport - Flynn Marine". Best of luck. If you want someone to bring it...

    SailFish 282

If your plan is to use this as a fishing boat then hands down it is the 2005. Whatever small changes were made down below will not override the fish box in the transom. Otherwise, you got a very large cooler in the middle of the cockpit.

What color bottom paint would you recommend

I've had black and dark blue. Black seems to hold up better and of course maintains its color. Blue tends to show the fading sooner.

Highest HP a 272 Sailfish can take

Had the same question so I called Grady White. Their comment was the euro transom on those early models was not designed to withstand the weight of current four strokes. Their suggestion for me was the newer Mercury Four Strokes. So, that's what I did and haven't look back. The old two stroke...
