I use Scotty Downrigger plug. It comes with side mount socket that I mounted with two screws directly under to the gunwale. Can take pics next time if needed.

Try to mounted the receptacles plug upside down under the gunwale to keep socket dry.

Agree. Change the Pump. If you didn’t disconnected the water lines and drained to winterize, it probably busted inside.

I locked down the kicker steering and use the main engines auto pilot to steer.

Yes + help keeping the hours off the big engines and carbon build up since I usually troll all day @ 600 rpm.

Added a 15 hp Kicker trolling motor this weekend with Bob Machine Kicker Jac hydraulic bracket. Installation wasn’t bad at all, I fit the hydraulic pump under the port rear hatch battery box to keep it from the weather and run the switch to the console.

It’s way too low. I would not do it. It may work for you but it will be a safety issue with someone a bit taller. Also, it will block your vision when monitoring your trolling gear.

Have not tried it yet. I can’t power on the ramp anymore due to erosion/restriction, and on low tide I had to dunk most of my truck in salt water to float the boat, the manual crank is worthless for the 10k boat on the bunks trailer.

Installed a Sherpa Grunter Boat Winch 12 v HD to pull 10k 265 Express. It’s a HD model and rates 10-20k lbs. Cant wait to drag her onto the trailer.

You don’t need a backing plate for Scotty downrigger, I use 2 extra large washers on each bolt for 20 years a nothing ever come off. When you get snagg the cable will bust before the gunnel. I would add the backplate if you use the Scotty mount with a pot puller for weight distribution.

I do have a 2003 265 and moorage in Everett 5 to 6 months each summer. Use autopilot & downrigger year around with 3 batteries. I add a battery voltage meter to tell me when I should cranking the main to recharge. Also, bring a portable lithium battery charger just in case.

You don’t need the AP24 display but you do need the AC12 computer to drive the RPU80 pump and RC42 Compass. The Evo3 takes care of the on screen Auto pilot. I brought the auto pilot as a package and want a dedicated device AP24. I don’t have a VRF. I use RPU80 pump to the hydraulic steering helm.

Just installed Simrad AP24, RC42 compass, AC12 computer, Rpu80 pump, connect to Evo3 on my 265 express. It’s so smooth. I use it mainly for trolling and heading hold.

Sionyx Nightwave. It takes stress out of night boating. I love it.

My 2003 and it does look straight in the slip. I keep my engines straight up with the outboard Steering locks which may help with the listing.

You won’t be able to break them. They are 20,000 lbs breaking strength if Yamaha original.
