Oh I almost forgot. Lets say we compare weight of the e tec 150 vs four stroke suzuki that weighs 478 lbs the e tec is 418 lbs for a 20" shaft or a 433 for a 25" that is what you should need. You are only talking about 63 lbs vs 44 lbs. difference. I never get what everyones weight concern...

I have an 86 that repowered with fourstroke suzuki 150. Yes it does squat and the scuppers sit just about 1/2 under while at rest. I have had it in some snot both backing down and drifting. I am pleased with the performance and have no regrets. :)

I should have said safety first, have a paper map on board and do not rely on your gps map as a turn by turn direction finder as in the car. Know your waters and use the electronics as an aid.

ocdan, If you still have the freezer it can be fixed. Puncture and all.

I was told that the web cracks are standard for older gelcoat and you can not do much with them. If you did do a patch on them they most likely would return. On grady's web site in the owners manual for the boat from 1986 it even speaks of gel coat crazing and cracking. One of those ugly evils...

LOL... CD, I am actually on the North end of the Barnegate Bay by Mantoloking. So I do go out Manasquan often and try to stay away from Barnegate but it depends on where the fish are. :lol:

Bondstreet, I did ask grady and they replied that on the newer modles they did add the cover plates for the reason of accessing the thru the hulls. I do not know what year they changed it and I have no experiance with newer overniters to tell you about the cover plates. I can tell you that the...
