    268 islander repower

Single 300 is great but if I had to do it again I would go with twins for better handling and I believe stability

    ReWiring 267 islander

Do not use the head, too small to do anything else and nice to be able to stand up and work on wires as well as not having them out in the salt air

    ReWiring 267 islander

Having all new switches installed and moving the rats nest down into the head for easier access. Turning out great. Everything will be labeled as well. Shout out to Kitty Hawk Marine, looking good.

    268 islander 300 Suzuki report

I had a hard time finding info before I bit the bullet on a single 300 so I’m posting my results for anyone wondering. I’m running a 4 blade power tech getting 13-14 gph loaded 135 gallons, 4 people, 300lbs ice, cobia tower, tuna tackle, running avg 23kts @ 45-4600 in 2-3ft offshore. Yes twins...

    Tackle station

With the 268 I have to reach over my transom seat to get to my rod mount filet table. I will probably make one out of starboard and take out the port small tackle station behind the seat and above the livewell with enough room to still open the livewell comfortably

    Tackle station

Looking to modify a stand up tackle station on my 268. Non of the Grady layouts have a really good tackle station to work on. You just stand up cutting line and tackle off, throwing them in any cup holder you can find. Doesn’t have to be big just a small table with hook and weight holders...

    1995 268 Islander

The transom aluminum bang cap is the 1st must fix and replace with a vinyl one from a Grady dealer. Get all the fuel/water lines replaced if cracked, and what I’m dreading on mine is switching the through hulls to stainless

Livewell sloshes into drink cooler 268

Trying to decide how to fix this problem on my 268 islander. When it’s rough the livewell sloshes and fills the drink cooler with the plastic lid. It melts the ice and fills the cooler with saltwater. Anything to improve this?

New 1996 Grady White Islander 268 with twin 200 V6 Mercs

Those are tight bends but next time flip the glass with Matt side down it bends Way easier and finishes off much smoother.. took me a lot of cussing before an old timer taught me the trick. Also wet the underside of the glass strips before laying it so it gets a solid soak and bends easier. It...

Thank you, I have read your posts about it. What rpm are you turning at cruise? Also did you try a 4 blade?

    268 repower Suzuki 300

Looking to see what pitch I should use if anyone has run this setup. I know several have used Yamaha 300s but they normally spin a smaller wheel so it’s hard to compare.
