    270 Islander Stereo

I will replace it. By the time I figure something out, I will have paid for a new install with someone who can keep it working. Thanks David

    270 Islander Stereo

Sorry to be dumb. When you say head unit, do you mean the radio or the remote switch on the dash? I could not find an "on" button on the remote on the dash, so I have only tried on the radio.

    270 Islander Stereo

My 270 has a Kenwood stereo. The boat is new to me. When I got the boat last winter the stereo would power up. Now it does not. My boat does not have 30 amp power, so I have four red tabs with the battery switches. One master, two bilges and "memory". I think memory is the direct wire to the...

    27 Islander Garboard Plugs

I did look around to the extent I could. It is obscured by vegetation at a friend's house. I wasn't clear about what I was asking. I was trying to ask if there were possibly garboard plugs in the hull or bilge that are interior to the hull in addition to any exterior ones?

    27 Islander Garboard Plugs

My boat is new to me. I am putting it back in the water next week. I found three garboard plugs in the helm seat cubby. I know there is one hull drain at the bottom of the aft end of the hull. I didn't find any other ones in the manual, but I am not sure my manual is complete. Can anyone tell me...

    Decals

As part of the re-build of my GW 270 Islander I am replacing all the decals with OEM decals from Discontinued Decals or other suppliers. I have one decal I cannot find. The helm deck seats are in good condition, but are missing what I assume are GW stickers as there remains a little glue strip...

    270 Islander Rebuild

My pictures are not so good. The nets are dry rotted. My canvas folks can do it, but I was hoping to find something that didn't have to be fabricated.

    270 Islander Rebuild

I am in the final stages of rebuilding my 2004 Islander. I have replaced the engines, canvas etc and I am down to replacing things that are pretty much just for cosmetic reasons. Everything that is netting is in poor condition. There is a net bag in the cuddy, head and the major net bag over the...

    Thru Hull Pulls and Canvas

The metal extension arms that Grady attaches to the seacocks so you don't have to reach all the way into the bilge to open or close them.

    Thru Hull Pulls and Canvas

-I just settled on my 2004 27 Islander. It is missing the thru hull pulls. Where can I obtain them? From Grady? -The fabric portions of my enclosure are in excellent condition. Some of the Eisenglass is in poor condition. I need a suggestion for a canvas shop in the Tidewater of Virginia that...

    Suzuki 200 Fly by Wire

I would like to go to a flat panel setup. One boat I looked at had used starboard and filled in the old lexan. It was a very clean look.

    Suzuki 200 Fly by Wire

Thanks for the detailed information. These are all things that I would not know or think to ask. My boating has primarily been diesel. The speed and consumption information is especially helpful. For the most part I will hold about 25 knots. Two MPG is phenomenal in my book. For now, I will be...

    Suzuki 200 Fly by Wire

Thanks. I am always in chop, and I don't push hard. After much thought, I am going with 200 4's. It just makes sense, especially since I don't make long runs and don't care about max speed. Cost savings are also pretty big.

    Suzuki 200 Fly by Wire

Thank You. This is a giant learning experience for me, as my world has been diesel. The ability to simply be able to change rotation is huge. I am learning a lot. I just hope to apply it correctly.

    Suzuki 200 Fly by Wire

Wow, thank you. I was about to goof. I had looked at an older model boat with 450 max hp. I validated what you said on the GW site.

    Suzuki 200 Fly by Wire

I am buying a 2004 GW 270 Islander with 225 Yamaha's. I am thinking about re-powering with twin 200 Suzuki Fly by Wire at Sandpiper Marine in Accomac VA. Would appreciate any thoughts or experience with the Suzuki motors or Sandpiper.
