Hi Greg, I own a 2006 Marlin and according to my diagram from my users manual the fwd bilge gets its hot off of terminal #2 of the port battery select switch. It is a brown/red wire and you should see a ckt breaker in line at that location as well. Hope this helps.

The wing nut seems to be wider towards the end, I slipped the loop over the end of the wing to its base and cinched it tight. I then pulled the tag end with a long nose pliers to make sure it was snug.
