Is your current battery not under one of the aft storage boxes? When I bought my boat I only had 1 battery on the starboard side under the aft box. I have since added another battery under the port side box and a battery switch.

I love my 97 Spirit although mine stays in fresh water almost all the time and I live less that 3.5 hours from the coast. I have looked online trying to see what the value of my boat might be but it is very hard to find used Spirits out there.

Any chance on getting my eyes on those pics?

I have a 97 175 with a carbed 135 Merc and water does come through the scuppers on my boat if you stand in one of the corners. If you stand in the middle there is no water in the cockpit.
