Yikes! Cracks in the interior shell

Hi guys - I've been the owner of a 28' 2006 GW Sailfish and have never had any issues. We recently had our boat moved from winter storage back into our slip at our local marina (a bit late, but we're in Maine), and we noticed 3 large cracks in the cabin shell. It doesn't look like it was caused...

    Engine Trouble - symptoms familiar?

Guys - we took this to a Yamaha certified mechanic at one of the largest and most reputable marinas in the state...I'm not sure where I mentioned that we took it to some random mechanic, but that's definitely not the case

    Engine Trouble - symptoms familiar?

Well I should stress that we didn't have any kind of alarm yesterday when the port engine was acting up - just a dramatic alternating loss and recover of power, over and over, without the ability to accelerate at all beyond 4000 rpm. The Yami guages didn't show a thing - no codes at all...

    Engine Trouble - symptoms familiar?

I've been having an issue with my port side engine (2000 Yamaha 4 stroke, twin 225's). We were running at about 4200 yesterday, and I noticed the port side engine kept cutting down to about 3500 on it's own, randomly and abruptly. Once it would return back to 4200, we would try to accelerate...

    Inflatable with the 282

Not with a zodiac in tow in 1-3 or 2-4 footers I haven't :-) That's ok though I think you're right - I don't think we're going to find a good place for it so we're probably going to have to tow ours as well, if we can't strap to the hard top.

    Inflatable with the 282

    Thanks guys - however 200 miles towing a dinghy at a snail's pace...doesn't get a little...long?

    Inflatable with the 282

Hi everyone - I posted something similar last year but wanted to revisit to get some more thoughts on this. We have a 2005, 282 Sailfish. We're looking at getting an inflatable soon (no engine, just some paddles). Something to carry 3 people/600 lbs, whatever comes first. Nothing too...

    Shark Fishing Gear??

Hey TunaT thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Basically we’re looking to go off shore so we can grab some cod while we’re out as well. I live in Maine, so up in the area you run into a lot of blue sharks, a mako once in a while, some football tuna, etc. I’d like to get the kind of...

    Shark Fishing Gear??

Hi everyone - For the past 6 years or so, we've used our Grady to chase the bluefish, cod, stripers, etc around, but we'd like to really switch gears and get into the shark (perhaps tuna) fishing game. We have some good gear, but mostly for the 10 - 20 lb fish near the coast, or cod...
