help with a broken zipper tooth

I have tried this and it did work. In fact, this is the standard fix for a broken zipper. However, my broken tooth was at the end, which seems now like an easier fix. You just end up with slightly less zipper after cutting. Like the poster, i'd be certain that, of course, it would tear open...

help with a broken zipper tooth

Chances are that, if it is only one broken tooth, that you can cut out the bad one. Just use a sharp pair of scissors and cut it carefully out. Since it sounds like it is in the middle, your zipper should just glide past the space. Use some vaseline or chapstick if needed.

Still glad you "Got the Grady?"

I'm talking about the SNAP-PRO-PLUS. And it does both. In fact, it has TWO ways to snap the canvas, with either the keyhole end or the flat end. It retails for about $25.

    Cabin Doors

I'm sort of thinking that I like the darker look of our doors and bulkhead. But, the vinyl-over-plywood is looking like a less attractive option. I may go with plain teak, which I think might be a nice look. When that is done, is it done with all teak? Or is it done with teak over starboard...

    Cabin Doors

JeffN, I think actually you're right. It must be a vinyl type covering over plywood. And I, too, use Pledge to spruce it up. When people replace that area with starboard, what are they covering the starboard with, if anything? Thanks.

    Cabin Doors

BobP, Yes, that's what I mean. I have a 1986 Overnighter. It has the wood grain formica, which I thought was "duratrim." And it is what covers the tackle doors. It is also what holds the teak doors to the cabin. It seems that is overlaid over plywood, or something. "Brady Bunch...

    Cabin Doors

Is it possible to still get that duratrim today? If so, how is it applied over what I assume is plywood?

Do the Zippers really have to be that dificult ?

I went to Michael's and got bendable wire. Tied a loop through the zipper hole big enough to grab with my whole hand. Makes the job a whole lot easier.

    Cabin Leak on 89 Overnighter

Did you try tightening the screws on the deck of the walkaround? There are several near the window. I had the same leak, tightened those screws, and now I don't seem to have it any more.

    NE WINTERS SUCK

The snow here usually melts pretty fast, so I don't have much concern for the bimini. And, the boat is on my property-making it very easy to check on it regularly. The river can, and does, freeze. We have a bubbler system which works well though. Here is another pic showing the river on a...

    NE WINTERS SUCK

I agree! Despite this pic, I had the boat out this week in lovely 50 degree weather. It's worth some shoveling to have the water to myself. http://www.flickr.com/photos/35430664@N04/3280597419

    Horsepower requried for a 1988 20 Overnighter

I have a 1986 Overnighter with a Suzuki 140hp 4 stroke. A recent sea trial by my marina had it up to 43mph. They said it was a perfect match of boat and motor.
