Trim Tabs I have had my trim tabs painted with antifouling paint everytime I paint the bottom (every season with ablative paint), and have had no issues. The tabs operate fine and the growth is held to a minimum.

I had my Grady dealer install a "recommended" bracket on my 1999 Voyager 248. There's plenty of room for my 9.9 kicker and it looks nice. The heavy duty pull down brackets sold on the secondary markets don't fit or work well. Mine is a stationary ss bracket.

9.9 is fine I'm not sure how the extra weight will affect the safety/performance, but a 9.9 with a push prop is plenty of propulsion for the boat. I have the Voyager 248, and my 9.9 Yamaha moves my boat just fine.
