4 stroke suggestion -- HELP needed

LOL I can do math as that is not the issue. The more and more that I think of this, unless I come across a deal of a lifetime, the 2 strokes are my only option. Plus I think that if my wife was on this forum, we ALL would quickly get the answer of what I am doing or what I am NOT doing! :doh...

4 stroke suggestion -- HELP needed

Bob, It has nothing to do with making the boat run 60 mph. For example, I have 2 friends with 2 different boats but both have twin Yamaha F150's on them. Most recently, I went on 1 friends boat that is a Cobia 25 ft CC. We ran a total of 280 miles and burned right at 100 gallons of fuel. We ran...

4 stroke suggestion -- HELP needed

Wow! A lot of good advice. I am sorry that I did not say that the engines are EFI OX66 engines. I would go to the ledge for dolphin and such more if the costs to do so where not so high most of the time. Unfortunately, almost ALL bottom fishing is closed off the coast of Florida. No Snapper...

4 stroke suggestion -- HELP needed

I have spoken to Grady about this once before. The NEW 4 strokes are lighter and the only thing that MIGHT happen is the outside scuppers might drop down into the water when sitting still. Other than that, nothing else.

4 stroke suggestion -- HELP needed

I currently own a GW Chase 263 that has the OX66 225 series Yamaha's on the boat. Let me start off by saying that I have owned about 10 different boats in my lifetime and I LOVE this boat way more than any other that I have owned. My issue is this. GAS PRICES SUCK!!! I seem to average 1.3 to...

    GRADY WHITE 257 ADVANCE

I have a 99 Chase 263. It only has 2 batteries installed in it. I will say that I am not considering a 3rd battery to be my "House" battery. I am experiencing issues with my Raymarine C80 and the screen shaking. I belive this is because it is picking up some interference from the engine as it is...

    272 batteries

I have a 1999 Chase 262 with Twin 225 OX66 and just had to go through battery changes. I went with 2 Group 31 Dual purpose batteries. One of these batteries is also the "house" battery that pushes my Stereo, JBL 60x4 amp and also a Bazooka marine bass tube with the built in 250 watt amplifier...

4 stroke vs HPDI on a Grady CC

Last weekend I took my boat out with 7 adults on it to cruise the river. At 3700 RPM's, I was cruising at 36-27 MPH according to my GPS. I was geting 1.4-1.5 GPH on my flow gauge. I have twin 225 ox66's. So I think that before I do anything, I will have to loose an engine or something because...

4 stroke vs HPDI on a Grady CC

I too have heard of the issues on the 250's and 300's. As I said, I am just gathering information really regarding these engines to determine what I want to do. From what I am gathering, even going to 4 strokes, really wouldnt gain me that much MPG to make me scream and shout with enjoyment...

4 stroke vs HPDI on a Grady CC

I own a 99 Chase 263. Currently have OX66 225's on it. I am considering moving to the 4 stroke F225 or an HPDI. I am wondering if anyone else out there has a Chase model with 4 strokes on it or HPDI's on it that can speak on the phone about it. My email address is stephendudra@Yahoo.com. Please...

    freshwater pump location on chase

pump location on my 1999 GW 263 Chase, the fresh water pump is inside the center console. Directly under where my fuse panel is, there is a removable cover that once removed, it will provide access all the way to the bottom of the boat located almost dead center of the Hull. Within this...

REPOWER: Time for new outboards???? Need advice

bobp do you not like your HPDI's? Why not? The F15o will work, but I will loose a LOT of speed that the boat currently has with the twin 225's on it currently. The suzuki might be a better choice but I would have to get all new gauges and throttles......

REPOWER: Time for new outboards???? Need advice

Update from Danny at GW I just got off the phone with Danny. he said moving up to the yamaha 150 would be no problem. However, going to something bigger means that i would have to glass the current mounting holes up and move them as the new engines are 28.5 inches off center where the older...

REPOWER: Time for new outboards???? Need advice

update If I was to repower, I would want to try to go to 4 stroke and would consider all manufactures. I do trailer my boat. I am wondering what the person meant to reinforce it with angle iron. Can you elaborate?
