Thanks for the tip. Did you actually do this and it worked or is it just a suggestion?

    Livewell on 28'3" Release

Everything is original. Again to clarify, this is not a problem with the pump. If I am anchored and using the pump to draw water in, it drains just fine. When I am running, there is no need to use the pump because water is forced in and this is when it gets too full and starts overflowing...

    Livewell on 28'3" Release

The drain is clear. Good thought though. The GPM forced through at speed must be more than the gravity fed drain can account for.

    Livewell on 28'3" Release

The 28'3" has tackle drawers on the port side right next to the livewell. Don't want saltwater constantly bathing my tackle drawers. Also, the best seat in the house for a long run is bean bags in the back or sitting on the aft folding seat. The water is plenty enough to soak anything on the...

    Livewell on 28'3" Release

That is certainly worth a try. I wonder if it would harm the pump by restricting the amount of water.

    Livewell on 28'3" Release

Bob-- If I shut the valve all my bait dies. I guess I should have clarified while in use. I am aware of the valve.

    Livewell on 28'3" Release

Does anyone have any sucessfull alterations to keep the livewell from overflowing while running the boat. I've tried additional rubber seals to no avail. The top of the livewell is just not sealed well at all and a lot of water pours on the deck while underway.

    Marlin Trailer

I would opt for a triple axle 15,000 pound aluminum float on trailer with disc brakes. Why push the envelope?

    1984 offshore 24 fuel tank

I had a 1986 24 Offshore with an 80 gallon tank that my wife and I replaced over a long weekend a few years back. Assuming the installation was the same in 1984, this is my recomendation. Take pictures of the existing tank in place and measure all of the supports/bracing that you can reach. You...

Warning Buzzer on twin 2003 F225's

After a particularly wet week in the Keys the warning buzzer at the starboard engine key switch is no longer audible. Has any forum member had experience in changing one of these out and if so, what was the level of difficulty? Did you change both buzzers or just the bad one? Any help would be...

Spring startup problems Yamaha 250/24' Offshore

If you changed out the fuel filter ahead of the engine after the boat sat for a long time there is no fuel getting to the engine. Pressing the ball (a lot) may eventually get the fuel primed to the engine. If not, I have sometimes had to add fuel to the filter to help it along. I boat year round...

    24 offshore livewell

Not sure if the 87 offshore came with a full transom? I had an 86 offshore with a cut out transom that sat low with a two stroke. You are adding approx. 200 lbs. at the transom so have someone in that weight category stand back there at anchor and check out where she floats.

    Rod holders 248

I put my downrigger attachment as far back on the gunnel port side near the transom as possible. Worked for me because the downrigger was not used all the time and it was out of the way for bottom fishing. Additional rod holders were installed on the transom board that folds down( if you have a...

    Yamaha F225 Problems?

What do the bubbles signify? So if your motors put out a lot of bubbles is this a symptom of an issue? Please, no speculation, just facts if anybody knows.

    28'3" Release Casting Platform

New owner of 28'3" Release 2004 looking for input on the forward casting platform. I was thinking about adding the platform and would like to hear from anyone with this option. Looks like it would add a good bit of storage underneath the platform. Any disadvantages with access to the other...

    Insurance Question

You must be very careful and read your quote/policy carefully. I almost went with a policy that did not include theft! This was from a major Company that has a cute little mascot. Their on line form indicated theft was covered but on the second page of fine print it is excluded. I called to...
