I have the same setup with a 250 Honda. WOT is 43mph depending on seas. You would probably hit 46 if I had to guess.

Could be your fuel lines degrading from the inside out. Were they replaced with the tanks? Was there a switch from non ethanol to ethanol fuel? The ethanol will scour the tanks and lines and clog your filters.

Any of those boats are “tight” for overnights. It can be done, but living space is cramped and the water lapping up against the hull will keep you awake at night. Just my opinion.

Try wiping down with acetone. Will clean it up nicely. Be careful not to get the residue on the hull. Works well. Good luck.

I did the hoses few years ago. I know they are 1-1/2” but not sure on the length.

I run a single Honda 250 on my 96 Voyager- Quiet, sips fuel, plenty of power and easy to maintain. Look into Tohatsu as well, same motor with a different badge.

Not sure about the other models but the 248 brochure (from 96) shows the bracket.

Plenty of life left in those motors- Upgrade the electronics and go fishing! Good luck

My 248 needs a lot of tab to pop on plane along with motor trim around 30

I found them in stainless on eBay a few years ago. Worth a look.

I would recommend a 16x18 or 19 4 blade prop. The 4 blade on my Honda 250 made a huge difference. Same hull. Good luck, and talk to Ken at Prop Gods.

The hoses were a bear to replace on my 248-patience and bloody knuckles will get it done.
