I have a 1990 Gulfstream. It is pre sv2 hull and it is a rocking chair in rough water. The gulfstream is a beamier boat and that makes a difference also, bit it is very dry and comfortable. Just trying to add to your info base .. Congrats on your first Grady !

You really need ro check into etec. All the advantages of 4 stroke without the extra weight or all the maintaince , and more torque !

Do yourself a favor and research Etec. That's what I just put on my gulfstream. Much lighter than 4 stroke with less emissions ,very quiet,fuel efficient,less maintance,and best of all it is a 2 stroke which means more torque and less moving parts. I love it. Check them out. I did a lot of that...

I suggest an Etec 300 or you may be OK with a 250 due to etec retains that good ole 2 stroke torque while still giving you a quiet and fuel efficient ride. I have the 250 on my gulfstream and it does a great job. :jaw :roll:

My 1990 yamaha 250 quit this summer and I decided,after much though and research, to repower with an evinrude etec.
