My trim tab pump keeps blowing fuses making me crazy. I've checked the switch, the solenoid function as well as tab actuators. there is oil in the reservoir but tabs generally are hit and miss.

You may need to buy/borrow a clip on ammeter type of current reading meter to see if you are drawing excessive current and go from there..

No sir one button at a time. I was able to stroke both tabs individually at the dock without blowing fuse. not sure how much travel is adequate but each side moved about three inches.current draw around 2.5 a. does the pump work harder to move both at once? Add solenoid power draw for both at once but that's minimal.

Shoot. I was hoping for the easy fix :)

3" is about right (maybe a bit less, actually). It stands to reason that there would be more strain on the motor moving two hydraulic rams at once. Starting point... remove/inspect/clean connections - especially +V and ground. The problem "could be" dirty/corroded connections.

i have cleaned the plug connections and the grounded side as well thank you. the switches look like they need a good cleanup, that's my next effort

Always go for the "free" fix, first! :) Besides, doing what you're doing is never a bad thing.

Don't forget the power source (fuse) connections (both sides). And be sure to closely inspect wire connections for frayed or broken wires.
