Back in October I joined this forum and asked advice about this 1982 GW Tournament 19DC. Some people said move on and others said that overall this could be OK. Well based on the appearance of the boat and the meticulous care both mechanically and cosmetically the owner described to me I went ahead with the buy. The main issue with most people was the Merc 470 motor and rightfully so. The previous owner had the boat since 1984 and had no issues with the charging system, cooling system or the cam seals which seem to be the big three "I told you so's". I can find my way around engines of most kinds and enjoy maintenance on engines. The boat was used for fishing in Lake Ontario and was always kept on the trailer when not in use. Always stored in a garage when on the trailer. Came with a lot of extra gear ( 2 Canon electric downriggers, 6 Fenwick rods with Daiwa reels, CB and VHS radios, 2 mooring covers, full walk under enclosure with side curtains and rear enclosure, 1 paper graph 1 LCD fish finders, spare tire) and much more. The boat is in storage right now and in the spring it will be docked in the St. Lawrence River near Cape Vincent, New York at the very eastern end of Lake Ontario. I am looking forward to a lot of trolling for walleyes, muskies, northerns and bass this summer. Here are some pics.
