Just discovered the dreaded transom rot I (complete with termites) in my tournament and need to do a rebuild myself as I can't justify paying someone else $5-6K to repair a $3K hull. Question is, what are the pitfalls/tricks of separating the deck from the liner/hull so that I can access the entire upper surface of the transom. I see both phillips head screws and rivets under the rubrail, and sense this task may result in damage and difficulty in getting it all back together if not done correctly. Any replies appreciated.
