Trying to get my boat ready for the season and I lost all electrical power to the entire boat. I had a battery on the battery tender while the battery was installed in the boat. I had the key on to check the lights, horn, wiper, and to check the radio and everything was working as it should. when I turned the key to see if the starter would spin I heard was a click and then I lost power to everything. Even the tilt on the motor won't work, gauges wont turn on. I tested the battery and it has a full charge. Is it possible that I tripped the main breaker? Anyone knows what it looks like when it's popped. It's hard to tell on my boat because it looks like its out but I can't reset it. What would cause this problem? Anyone have similar expreience? It's a 1992 204c with a 1992 175 Yamaha on the back. any and all help is much appreciated.

its more likely that you have bad connection, perhaps the ground cable. Check all large connections. The main breaker should on that boat be a 40A squarish box mounted near the battery compartment. It should has a red reset button in its middle

I checked some things out and I found that my 40amp breaker is still good. I also checked all my connections and they seem good as well. I am wondering if I blew a fuse on the outboard would it prevent power to my gauges and accessories? The reason I ask is this only happened after trying to engage the starter.

Gauges, maybe. Accessories..no. You need to test for juice starting at the battery positive post and go from there. Use a test light since it draws a little current.
If you lost connection on the power or ground main wire to your fuse block, it would explain all your issues.
That is relatively easy to test also at the helm.

The wires to the motors (instruments) and the wires to the boat elec are seperate. If you lost everything, I would check ground. Start with the motor, clean the ground cable at the starter. Are you on single or double battery? If double check your swich.
