Hello,

I just bought a 1994 228 tourney with a solid transom and no power. I had the hull surveyed and it is structrally sound. 4k The boat needs...

the starbird side windshield replaced ... do you know where to get that? He drove under a tree while on the trailer..

Hull scrubbed, perhaps wet sanded, and rubbing compound/wax? Its really not in bad shape at all.

Some replacement cushions and a hatch covering and some hardware

New bronze Thru halls to replace nylon ones ...

This will be a long term project as i plan to have it in the water with new power by June 2011. I am trying to bite off what I can chew financilly w/o going to the bank, so one step at a time is my choice.

Hull says its rated for maximum HP of 230, but I wanted to put a 250...any input on that?

Any and all advice will be appreciated.

Well, first of all welcome aboard, second, congrats on the 2-3 score against Uruguay (i really wanted to see Germany-Holland as final) and third, congrats on the new boat. As far as the parts you need, i really can't help you and would be very hard to find something there. As far as the HP, is really a Coast Guard thing and i know in Europe(i'm Greek/American) they are very picky about it, so ask before you do anything.
About the hull, if is just scrapes and not too deep, wet sand would do it.
As far as the windshield, do you have the aluminum part? Maybe someone there can duplicate it, or maybe copy the port side if is the same.

Thanks for responding. I and the boat are currently in Myrtle Beach, SC. We work for DoD so we are overseas quite a bit, but we still spend a more than fair share of time in US on the coast. That is why I finally got my Grady.

I found a company who makes the windshield and I would be happy to share if anyone needs it. Just let me know.

Cheers,
