I am looking at the above boat that was repowered with twin 200's in 2003, it originally had 175's. I noticed along the top of the transom corners that the 5200 is not lined up anymore by about 1/4 inch. The transom moves slightly if I move the engine up and down using the tilt motor. The transom is straight and sounds solid throughout, could the intrusion be limited to the areas in corners ? Any way to tell short of removing the engine and cap ? There again is a little movement tolerable ?

I am assuming that the transom has gotten wet, any idea what a replacement may cost ? My Wellcraft was built the same way and I had to do it 5 years ago.

Welcome to the forum!

You'll get some responses from those with experience here. My inclination is that there should be no movement, and that a transom rebuild is suggested. I've seen figures in the four to five thousand range here, and also some do-it-yourselfers.
