Bought my first Grady :D and am seeking some info. The boat is in good condition, appears to have spent its life on a trailer and has an 01 Yami 150. What items should I look to repair/replace/upgrade on the boat? Also, does anyone know of a company that rents a vehicle that you can tow with? The boat is in GA, I am in MA and carrier quotes have been coming in much higher than I anticipated. Thanks!

Congratulations on the new Tournament. A common issue is trim motor electrolysis. The trim motor is a shaped like a cylinder located on the mounting engine bracket just to the right of the push rod. Its works like a big magnet and with 12 volts of electricity shooting through it every time the engine is trimmed it common for electrolysis to set in. Check for rust or corrosion around the base and top of the cylinder.
If you already haven't, run a moisture meter over the hull to check for any high moisture concentration. The hydraulic steering usually is a little shaky for a boat of this vintage so be sure to have it checked out by a qualified mechanic. A qualified Yamaha mechanic should check the engine for compression and other health items. The horn, GPS and VHF usually need replacement by this time as well. There are other general items which you can read about in other threads are - transom weakness due to water damage and ditto for the stringers.
Post a pic of your new Grady for us all to see.
