1997 208 with Yamaha 150 2 stroke

Hello, new to the forum. I live on the south shore on Long Island and am looking to get feedback on the 208. I found one with the info above, but I feel it might be a bit underpowered. Also, I'm not sure the transom issues that I've read about and what year they were prevalent. So, any feedback would be appreciated.

You can have the transom issues on many model years. Only a close inspection and moisture test will tell you for sure (unless of course the condition is really bad)
The 150 is OK for the boat. With a half tank of gas and two or three people, performance is acceptable. Performance with one to two passengers is good. Mostly full tank and 4 passengers: The boat will feel pretty sluggish getting on plane.
Although hard tops are not that common, Grady recommended 175 when a hardtop was installed.
