I have a 2000 and need both the starboard and port sides. Was thinking of reusing the existing door and building the frame using Starboard. There is little room if any to go any bigger than current size..

Making a frame using starboard is relatively straightforward for someone with the tools and woodworking skills. Note that the new frame has to mechanically attached to the insert (assuming there is one). Starboard is not easy to glue

I was thinking of using two pieces of Starboard with a thin piece for the front facade and slightly thicker for the section within the back wall with the door. Going to screw the two pieces together.

Note I do have the equipment but never considered my self an expert as always room to learn.

Ended up locating a custom shop in Florida, Ocean Breeze Marine Accessories, that made a small change to a standard build for the cut size as was 1/4” too large. Price was $100 less than another shop for each and delivery was within nine days. Installed the rear hatches in thirty minutes this morning and they look awesome. Some before and after pictures.

I know I couldn’t have done it myself based on other home projects so super happy after surfing the web long and hard.

Those look sharp. Not sure what you meant by the cut size. Is this a standard size door or did you give them dimensions? If so would you mind passing on the measurements

My interior cut size was 11” square. The standard hatch cutout was 11.25” square so they customized the opening to match the hole size. Make sense?

Note the exterior frame is 13” square.
