I have a 2004 grady white 228. Looking to upgrade my electronics. Looking at transducers and locations for install. Would like to put i a b175h-w. I have seen where guys that don't have the aux tank put it in the foreword access for the bait well. I have a aux tank and that i not a option. The only option is the area under the live well. Has anyone done that install? Not a lot of room and just looking for ideas. Want to avoid the huge transom mount transducer if possible. Thank you in advance

The B164/175 series don't have a very long stem but need a very wide hole for the wider than usual stem, the whole stem and cap is 4.5" high
You may need to drill it from the outside if the drill does not fit under the live well but need some space to get the nut over the stem.
You can find the dimensions and other informations here
This transducer is designed for mid water pelagic fish and not the best choice for bottom fishing due his wide cone covering too much bottom area.

I have installed quite a few b1775 transducers. very large hole yes. Was looking o see if anyone has installed one in the area under the live well in a 228. There are already two thu hulls and the bilge pump there. most that didn't have the aux tank there was room behind the fuel tank for a transducer. mine has the aux tank so that is out of the picture. only under the live well.

Thats what I was looking for. Thank you. Is that a 20 degre b175h-w?
