I am interested in getting a 209 Escape, but I am a speed freak. How fast can these go gps with 225 hp or more?

Wrong kind of boat if you're talking about speed. The hull design won't allow high top end speed. Designed for a totally different purpose. Mid-40's, give or take.

I don't know what year your hull is but the earliest model had an HP max limit of 230hp and back then, that hull was rigged with two strokes. With a 4s it will probably be slower than early years with same horsepower. Regardless, if speed is your aim, you are looking at the wrong kinds of boat.

We have a 2002 209 with a Yamaha 200 hpdi. With a light load we can hit 49 mph in relatively calm bay water. We have switched props a few times and raised the engine, I believe we decided on a 15.25" x 19" SWII yamaha prop.

A late model 209 with the 200 four stroke Yamaha should do 45 with a light load and flat water. I've had that and it's a great hull and can attest to the numbers. I agree with the other comments that if WOT performance is what you want this is not the boat.
