Greetings,

Considering a 2006 209 Escape with a F150(4 stroke) and trim tabs and wanted to ask for input/advice.

Boat is without Trailer and I am considering a new Load Rite.

Started my search looking at 01 / 02 Adventure 208 and became somewhat disappointed with loss of overall aft space with the cuddy ..( perhaps this not a fair evaulation, just my initial reaction after taking a few out on the water..

Does it make sense to go for a 2006 209 and have to buy a new trailer etc...

Several of my friends are asking me why do I kep looking at Grady's and not considering other manufacturers ( good question I suppose )..

Thamks in advance,

Cheers, moccq

I have a 208. There is no difference in 'AFT' space for the most part. The hulls are identical as is the footprint of the deck. The trade off is the ability to move around the deck, aft and forward easily (escape) or have some room for storage, equipment etc ( adventure). If you are a hard core fisherman, there is no doubt that the center console will suit you better but if you need a place to change, use the potty, store extra gear, the cuddy is better. Either way, the aft space kinda tops out with three fishermen. You can accommodate more in the center console but you will notice a performance slow down with the 150. You will notice it also with a full tank and 2 people. An extra half tank of gas is like adding 1 1/2 adults or three medium sized children.
If you plan on taking the wife or kids, they will appreciate the cabin and more so the extra protection at the helm, especially in inclement / cool weather with curtains up.
