- Fisherman 222
Anyone have any experience with the fisherman 222 offshore? I am in the process of selling my current boat and looking for a replacement and have come across a few GW 222s. With the fuel capacities it could safely make it out 50+ miles and have a good reserve. Obviously have to pick the days but not sure how these boats handle the rougher water if something comes up. I am limited to 23' on length by association rules. I have narrowed my search to either the Hydra-Sports 2200 or the GW 222. The Hydra specs show it as a heavier boat and thus may ride a bit better. The availability of the GW is appealing as there are a few for sale locally. I did look at one about a month ago and the hull did not feel as solid as I would have expected. I am not discounting the entire line from this, and plan to keep it in the running but just an observation on this particular one. Are there any issues with these boats that I should look for?
