I'm new to the forum and i was hoping someone can shed a little light on this subject for me?
I have a 1993 24gt explorer with a 2011 yamaha 4 stroke 250.
it has the i guess call it the full transom and then the cast aluminum motor mount hanging off the back to which the motor mounts off.
right now with a stainless michigan wheel apollo 15.5x17 3 blade the boat is a dog.
cruises around 21 knots at 5K rpm.
wot throttle at 5800rpm (i don't push it past that) maybe 25 knots if trimmed perfectly.

i wanna see a lot more top end. my motor runs the smoothest at 4800rpm. i want to run it there and cruise at least 25 knots.

does this seem realistic?
any recommendations? As of now I'm looking into a Rev4 prop to upgrade.
what are you guys running?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Something doesn't sound right. 5800 WOT is perfect. That would indicate you're wheeled properly.
