265 transom latch

Can anyone with a 265 tell me about or show me a picture of the latch mechanism which grady used on the 265 fold down transom? I have a fold down transom/wavegate on my scout with plastic clips which keep breaking. I've tried several solutions but I gather the 265 has some sort of latch which actually works! If I can't figure out something based on the 265 design, then I'll probably just install a couple of barrel bolts, but I'm hoping to find something that "pops" open. The type Scout uses, which keeps breaking, is the Sea-dog "plastic flexible door catch" and I tried the Sea-dog "stud catch", but that broke too. I accidentally installed the stud catch on an angle though, and maybe I'll try to re-install a new one if I can't figure something out based on the 265 design. You can see the catch mechanisms I've tried on the Sea-dog website. By the way, I love the 265 and was poised to swap my scout for one with someone who was looking to move to a center console but he wound up selling it first. Thanks, Ed.

It's dark and raining out right now but if I can make it down to the boat tomorrow I'll take a couple pictures, hard to describe but it's a sort of opposing double-ball pressure fitting mounted on the inboard sides of the transom notch with a concave shaped 'probe' on each side of the transom gate that locks into the fitting when the gate is up. Enough pressure to hold it against following seas or when backing down into them but will release if you trim the engines up into it (this is related 2nd hand, luckily I've yet to find out). What I know for sure is it works and I like it. Pictures will definitely help.

And there is a screw slot on top of the ball-bearing piece that you can use to increase the holding tension.

Thanks! I found that type of adjustable double ball catch made by Seadog who calls it a stud catch. I mounted it on 1 side and it too broke, but I'm going to try again, mount it better and on both sides. For whoever was looking for a source, just do a google search for seadog stud catch - it comes in a couple of different sizes. I tried the larger size and that's what I'm going to try again. It's definitely better than the nylon stud catch. If anyone happens to have a better source or manufacturer than Seadog please let me know. The ones in the picture look slightly different, but it's hard to tell. Thanks again!
