84 190 tournament hp question

friend of mine has the 190, and I have a freshly rebuilt 140 johnson v4 that we are thinking about installing on his boat. the motor is a 1980, so thats powerhead 140, and when I had it rebuilt, I had the compression droped just a bit to adjust to 10% ethonol fuel. these motors are know to throw rings, they were wound pretty tight for their year and size. Prob only putting out 115hp or so at this point, but running real strong. I have repowered, so I don't need the engine anymore. Is he going to be way underpowered? don't think I have ever seen one with less than a 150.

I have a 1985 with an Evinrude 140 (1985) that I just bought. It ran real nice when we test ran it. No speed demon but good enough. I think my engine is running 140 psi as far as compression goes.

What compression did you have the Johnson set at?
