I have a 99 272 Sailfish with twin OX66...second owner. She was stock when I bought her last year, and had been lift kept near Annapolis.

Now living in Florida, in the water all the time, I notice that, even with the main gas tank near empty, a couple of inches of the motors are still in the water. Aft bilge always dry as a bone.

My first thought is that the Yamaha tilt system may be tired out, as I doubt she would have been initially rigged this way, but I just wonder, considering the always on a lift life she once led.

Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Thanks for the responses...so with a sample size of 4...seems we are in the same boat...sorry...an easy item to scratch off the list.

Mine has the hot water heater option and the skegs are still in the water.

Following up on onoahimahi above, who mentioned the hot water heater weight/location, I'll add that Tide Traveller has a factory installed A/C unit, which obviously adds weight.

Maybe my question should be.... are there any 99 era 272 Sailfish twin OX66 225s that do not 'drag tail'.

Thanks for the responses.
